Pure Gorgeousness

I can't believe it

The cabin where I spent my summers as a child, gone. Burnt to the ground. I'm still in shock and disbelief.

No name yet, but my Ashford Traveller arrived today around 3:30pm. Pics to come.

I have a fence

Well, 3/4 of a fence, but it's getting there! It will be so nice once it's all finished. The level of my excitement directly corresponds with C's level of disappointment LoL.

Five fence panels up. I feel so accomplished, and it's going SO much faster than the pole setting.

Having no power really, really sucks. Luckily we were able to stay with my inlaws, since it was 84 in the house. 84 is bad enough, but having no fan made it absolutely unbearable. I am grateful that we only lost power- many of the houses around here have tarps on the roofs due to the wind damage, and I heard that quite a few people died (last I heard was 6).

We put up a small pool (120"x90"x22") and ds went in it for the first time, even though the water was still freezing cold right out of the hose. When he was finally done, we came in and not even 3 minutes later I'm hearing "wa wa?" "wa wa?" as he signs "water". It's going to be a looooong summer! lol

Yarny goodness

Dyeing yarn this afternoon, after dyeing fabric all morning. The yarn wasn't the best idea I've ever had- it's quite warm today and now my house is moist and sheepy. But hey, at least I'll have some yummy yarn to show for it;)

My husband is learning the harsh reality of serving sizes. I'm loving this diet so far, if for nothing else than that fact alone. That is all.

Since December?

Of 2007? Has it really truly been that long? Crazy how fast life moves.
