A dress for mama
EDITED: Sorry, I realize these pictures are down. That's on purpose. Trust me, they were awful, and you're better off not seeing them;)
If you remember a few days ago, I was oohing and ahhing over how great the BBW Simplicity 3835 is. This time I made a dress, with the regular neckline. Size 18, as measured in my last post. Dress doesn't look nearly as bad IRL as it does in the photos (at least I don't think it does LoL). The first picture is taken with the auto timer on the camera, the second picture Gadgetman took after I modified it (added elastic under the bust, as he said it looked awful without it- gee thanks honey lol).

So what do you think- "with elastic", "without elastic", "stop standing like a doof", or "this looks craptastic, don't make it again!"

A little sewing for mama:)
I never sew for myself. Ever. Because nothing ever fits, because I'm a bit well....endowed in the boobage area. Luckily someone on DSD (thanks Samantha!) made up a shirt with the Built By Wendy Built By You Simplicity 3835. I gave it a try!
Tips:
*If you're also quite busty, measure around your back but above your boobs for the chest measurement. I ended up making a size 18 which fits perfectly even though my actual chest measurement is not even on the pattern sizing.
*For a shirt, I added in a little bit to the front and bottom, by angling my pattern a bit off the folded edge and outwards (did that make sense?). This made it a bit more roomy without making it hang awkwardly.
*Don't be lazy and just sew, if you also have a serger. I neglected to do so, and now I have a feeling this shirt will be a mess of fraying once I wash it.

Bathroom Decluttering
I'm on a major decluttering spree. I badly want chickens (yes, chickens) but Gadgetman says we have to get things in order before we get them. So.....I took "in order" to mean "declutter to the point where it can't possibly get messy". Starting with the bathroom (being the smallest and thus easiest room to do).
View from the door (yes, my bathroom is decorated with outhouses)
To the left- that's family cloth that's exploding out of the container on the back of the toilet
Under the vanity (as my dad would call it)
My drawers on the right- Top:
Middle:
Bottom:
And Gadgetman's drawers on the left. Top:
Middle:
Bottom:
And the cabinet behind the door:
As soon as stuff gets used up, I'll be replacing it with organic, local, or made by a WAHM product. Note that the Johnson and Johnson babywash on the bottom shelf is for my woolies, I don't use it on the kiddo;)

Pornographic Children's book
Ok, so not exactly pornographic. But- C was reading this book this morning and all the sudden says "ooh ooh ooh" while doing the monkey sign and then says "peepee" (penis).
I was wondering what he was talking about, and then upon closer inspection discovered this:
I can totally see why he thought it was the monkey's penis, especially considering it's in his crotchal region LoL.

A glimpse of what I've been working on
Although I can't take all the credit. I traced them and I do the sewing, but my wonderful hubby turns them right side out and clips the threads for me:) Gotta love a man that appreciates his wife's work :swoon:

First harvest of the year
Lettuce from the garden. Cute story- C and I are sharing the salad, him picking off the blueberries and grapes. I fed him a piece of salad along with a blueberry off of my fork and said "This came out of the garden, isn't that cool?" He gave me that puzzled look he likes to get, and signed "grass". LOL good time for an explanation that lettuce and grass are not the same, though I'm sure to a two year old they taste it.
Fresh from the garden:
Fill the sink with cold water and put lettuce in. Let it soak, agitate it a little. Dirt falls to the bottom of the sink. Pick leaves out and spin or let air dry.
Enjoy your salad (mine with blueberries, grapes and sunflower seeds topped with a little balsamic vinegar).
